Power Brooming is a vital part of artificial grass maintenance. A power broom is a gas or electric-powered spinning bristle brush. Because of the brooms ridged bristles, it can easily reach deep within the fibres of the artificial grass to remove rocks and debris that may have accumulated over time. Power brooms are also crucial in increasing the longevity of your turf. When used against the grain, they can stand up the fibres helping keep and maintain its natural look. We recommend power brooming once or twice yearly to extend the life of your turf. By booking with us, you'll save thousands on equipment and will have a guaranteed clean-looking yard by the time we leave.
A bioenzyme cleaner is a highly concentrated spray used to break down organic material in artificial grass. The bioenzyme cleaner we use is pet and environmentally friendly, making it one of the best products on the market. This product helps keep away weeds and breaks down any signs at the source. We highly suggest our bioenzyme cleaner to remove odour left behind from feces and urine for owners with pets, both dogs, cats, and anything in-between. The cleaner we use also has a uniquely fresh smell. Unlike most cleaners, that will leave your turf smelling toxic and intolerable. We use a hose-end dilute sprayer to ensure we don't miss an inch of your yard, and we make sure to target areas of high use. We have the tools to leave your synthetic grass looking and feeling brand new again.
As simple as it sounds, blowing and vacuuming is an essential aspect of maintaining your artificial grass. In general, this will remove any debris left behind after the power brooming. But it is not as simple as that; blowing and vacuuming will remove particulates unseen to the eye. Especially in the dry Okanagan summers, blowing will remove settling ash from nearby fires and dust from the busy streets. There will be no more dusty feet coming back into your house.
You may wonder what I mean by sanding. A silica sand gets put in the turf after installation to help the fibers stay true and improve ballast. This aids in stopping turf from looking flattened due to high traffic. Over time, sand gets removed on the bottom of shoes, blown out or falls through the holes in the turf. Sand also helps cool down the turf in the hot Okanagan summers. Envirofill does the same thing with the additional benefit of trapping and removing pet odors. Envirofill is an antimicrobial sand which is a substance that kills microorganisms such as bacteria or mold. We recommend yearly checks of the sand to aid in lengthening the life of your yard. It is common for us to add sand every 4 or 5 years but depends on the usage of the area. Sand is a key element in the longevity of your artificial grass.
Occasionally, due to the freeze and thaw of water in the ground, loose rocks in the base of the greens get pushed up, causing the ball to roll sporadically. This may cause your game to get thrown off and won't help your practice. We fix that by rolling a specially designed heavy device over the green. We then get down on our hands and knees and feel for any imperfections to mallet down. With our expertise, we can help get the ball roll smoothly again.
Weeds can mar the pristine appearance of your yard. Our goal is to maintain its post-turf perfection. While artificial grass features a built-in weed barrier, there might be instances where weeds emerge along the edges. To address this, we provide two options: a farm-grade chemical and a pet-friendly alternative. Both effectively combat and eliminate these stubborn weeds.
